Body:
Compact, muscular, with a slightly arched back and raised croup.

Limbs
strong, hind legs longer than front, legs round. The tail should have creases and bends, one or more nodes in various combinations. The length without taking into account the coat is from 3 to 8 cm. The hair on the tail is longer than on the rest of the body and forms a pompom.

Head:

Wool:
Medium length, with poorly developed integumentary hair, copious outer hair and weakly expressed undercoat. Collar, frill, panties, ear brushes and tassels are desirable.

Colors:
The following colors are not recognized in any combination: chocolate, lilac, cinnamon, faun (including tabby, bicolor, tricolor). All color point colors are also not recognized.

Disadvantages:
The tail is from 8 to 12 cm or shorter than 3 cm. The effect of the retracted bobtail, only one caudal vertebra, the back is too bent.

Disqualification:
Lack of tail, short straight tail, tail length more than 12 cm.

Note:
Crossing with other breeds is prohibited. In the novice class, confirmation of imports from the Kuril Islands is required.

1995 WCF Standard

General characteristics: medium-sized, muscular cat with a compact strong body and a clear outline of the body with a smoothly raised croup.

Condition: complies with general requirements.

Possible disadvantages: heavy type, long light body, type of Japanese bobtail, narrow, long, light head, high cheekbones, long nose, bulging, round, sunken eyes. large, pointed, “eastern” ears set back, significantly shortened forelegs, long, slightly pubescent tail, “bobtail tail” effect, “dry”, short hair, without undercoat, “Persian” or “eastern” type.

CROSSING WITH OTHER BREEDS IS NOT ALLOWED.
