Avdotki is a family of charadriiformes (sometimes referred to as cranes). The family includes 9 species attributable to 3 genera.
They live mainly in the tropics and subtropics (except North America), in deserts and steppes, along the banks of rivers and seas. The birds are 40–55 cm long. Three-toed legs, plumage of a protective desert color. In appearance, the avdotki resemble waders, in some ways similar to bustards.
Birds are active at dusk and at night, run and fly well.
